Local product processing. Optional consent-based measurement.
Merchant Match Preflight processes only the product page you explicitly scan and any feed row you choose to supply. Scanning and local evidence work without analytics. Optional privacy-preserving usage measurement is off by default and requires affirmative consent.
Data processed locally
- Visible product title, price, currency, availability, and identifiers from the current user-invoked tab.
- Product JSON-LD or basic microdata from that same page.
- One optional CSV, TSV, or JSON feed row supplied by the user.
- Compact scan evidence: timestamp, platform, counts, finding IDs, duration, repair status, and one-way site/page keys used to count distinct merchant domains and product paths without storing plaintext URLs in history.
Optional remote measurement
If you enable measurement, version 0.1.7 sends a random pseudonymous installation ID, event name, event time, extension and consent versions, a per-session random ID, and coarse enumerated buckets. Depending on the action, buckets may describe platform class, scan type, finding-count ranges, duration range, result class, repair outcome, local usage-scope range, structured role/context selections, structured feedback, support category, or capability interest.
The collector retains pseudonymous events for up to 90 days. Measurement failures never block a scan. You can turn measurement off at any time; withdrawal immediately stops transmission, deletes the local measurement ID and queued events, and removes the optional collector permission.
Viaprime operates the collector on Cloudflare infrastructure. Network metadata may be processed by that infrastructure for routing and security. The collector application does not read or retain IP addresses or user-agent strings, and request-body logging is disabled.
Data never collected remotely
No page URL, domain, site or page hash, product title or identifier, product fingerprint, price, currency, feed contents, DOM, structured-data block, browsing history, account credential, email address, free text, stack trace, or customer identity is transmitted. Extension data is not sold or used for advertising.
Local storage and retention
Compact scan evidence is stored in chrome.storage.local for up to 30 days and capped at 50 records. Product fingerprints, site keys, and page keys are one-way hashes. Site and page keys appear only in a local evidence export that you explicitly create and are never transmitted by optional measurement.
Extension deletion and export
Use “Clear all local data” inside the extension to delete its local storage, measurement identity, consent state, and queued events, and to remove the optional collector permission. Removing the extension also clears its local storage. A local evidence file can be exported before deletion.
Permissions
activeTab and scripting access only the page on which the user invokes a scan. storage retains compact local evidence. sidePanel displays the interface. The extension requests no broad host access, cookies, browsing history, identity, or Merchant Center permissions. Permission for https://metrics.viaprime.com/* is optional and requested only when measurement is enabled.
Archived validation website data
The separate pre-extension case-submission workflow is closed. Its historical records contain only information participants deliberately submitted: contact and organization details, a public product URL, manually entered comparison values, workflow notes, beta interest, and correction rechecks. The website did not crawl submitted URLs or access Merchant Center. Public evidence exposes aggregate counts only, and those counts are not extension usage evidence.
Website retention and deletion
Manual validation records are retained for no more than 30 days after the validation period unless a participant separately agreed to a longer beta. An existing participant can use the case ID and access code to delete the original case, linked rechecks, and reservation request.
Safety and limits
Do not provide passwords, credentials, Merchant Center exports, private client files, customer personal information, confidential prices, or unrelated feed rows. Findings are limited to supported product fields and do not guarantee Merchant Center approval.
