Scan one page, one variant, and one optional feed row.

Merchant Match Preflight is a Chrome extension for checking a selected Shopify or WooCommerce product variant against supported visible fields, product structured data, and one optional local feed row.

Release status

Current public release: 0.1.8. It adds deterministic handling for an eligible public UnitPriceSpecification current price while preserving the existing permissions, local-only product processing, and optional measurement boundary.

Run a scan

  1. Open a supported Shopify or WooCommerce product detail page.
  2. Select the exact product variant you want to check.
  3. Click the extension icon to open its side panel.
  4. Optionally paste or import one redacted CSV, TSV, or JSON feed row for that same variant.
  5. Select “Scan current page.”
  6. Review the findings, make the correction, and scan again.

Supported boundary

Merchant Match Preflight supports standard Shopify and WooCommerce Storefront/classic product selectors. Supported checks cover price, sale price, currency, availability, title, brand, SKU, GTIN, MPN, and selected variant conditions. Ambiguous, unsupported, and low-confidence pages return a non-pass state rather than a clean result.

In 0.1.8, a direct Offer.price remains authoritative. When it is absent, exactly one eligible public active UnitPriceSpecification can supply the current structured price. Member prices and strikethrough/list prices are not substituted for the public current price; invalid or multiple active candidates can never produce a clean pass. Price-validity fields are preserved for evidence but their date windows are not yet evaluated.

What results mean

Findings identify deterministic inconsistencies among the available page layers. A clean scan applies only to the fields extracted within the supported boundary. It does not guarantee Merchant Center approval, inspect account state, or diagnose a suspension.

Optional usage measurement

The extension works without measurement. Measurement is off by default and starts only after you enable the setting and approve Chrome's optional permission for https://metrics.viaprime.com/*. When enabled, only a random pseudonymous installation ID, event metadata, and coarse enumerated buckets are sent. Page URLs, domains, product data, feed contents, prices, free text, and customer identities are not sent.

Turn the measurement setting off to stop transmission, delete the local measurement ID and queued events, and remove the optional collector permission. Measurement failures never block a scan.

Local history, export, and deletion

Compact scan evidence is stored locally for up to 30 days and capped at 50 records. You can export the current report or local evidence. Use “Clear all local data” to delete local history, settings, consent state, measurement identity, and queued events. Removing the extension also clears its local storage.

Reviewer verification

The stable fictional fixtures and sample feed require no account, credentials, payment, or customer data. Use them to verify the published 0.1.8 extension's direct-price and structured-price paths.

Manual validation archive

The former website case-submission workflow is closed. Existing manual cases, aggregate evidence, and recheck controls remain available in the manual validation archive. They are separate from extension usage evidence.
