Complete one controlled scan before using a live store.
This path turns installation into a known result: one fictional product, one local feed row, and a report you can reproduce without credentials or customer data.
Expected time: about three minutes. The extension remains fully usable when optional measurement is declined.
Six bounded steps, ending in a usable report.
Keep the fixture tab active throughout the first scan. The website does not scan the page; the installed extension does.
Install the current Store release
Add Merchant Match Preflight from the Chrome Web Store. No Merchant Center login or broad browsing permission is requested.
Open the fictional fixture
Use the public test product so the first result is reproducible and contains no customer or client information.
Open the side panel
Select the extension from Chrome's toolbar while the fixture is the active tab. Pinning it is optional.
Scan the current page
Run the user-initiated scan. The fixture should expose a visible-price conflict with structured data.
Add the sample feed row
Import the one-row CSV to add a deliberately conflicting feed availability value without uploading anything.
Use the report
Copy or export the local report. On a real page, correct the authoritative source and rescan to verify the repair.
Two known conflicts prove the comparison path is active.
The fixture is intentionally incorrect. Its findings are test evidence only, not customer evidence or a Merchant Center verdict.
Structured Offer.price exposes 89.00 USD.
The optional sample feed row reports out of stock.
Let this first-use path count without sending product data.
If you voluntarily enable privacy-preserving measurement before the scan, save the structured profile below. Do not enter a company, client, email, domain, or other identifying information.

MMP-SITE-START
Measurement is off by default and optional. It sends only pseudonymous events and coarse enumerated buckets; page URLs, domains, product fields, prices, and feed contents remain local.
